SBVBC League Policies
(Effective: Fall 2010)

REGISTRATION FOR LEAGUE: 3 Easy Steps

1) E-mail your registration form to the league director. Registration forms are available via online at website http://sbvbc.org or e-mail a league director. Registration forms must be complete with six players. Completed registration forms will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.  Incomplete rosters will not be accepted.

2) Pay your team registration fee. On the first night of league play, bring a check written out to the amount and organization as indicated on the registration form. Cash payments and/or individual payments will not be accepted. Teams without payment on the first night will not be allowed to play.

3) Sign the registration form. On the first night of league play, the league director will have printed all registration forms received through e-mail. All players must sign the registration form before participating in play.

LEAGUE PLAY AND FORMAT

1) During regular league play, each team will play two matches and officiate one match. Each match consists of two sets 0-25 points, capped at 27 points. SBVBC league adheres to current USAV officiating guidelines.

Please refer to Chapter 1: Section 4 regarding net calls and center-line violation. Please refer to Significant Rules changes for ball handling guidelines.

2) All matches will start according the times indicated by the league director. Teams who are not present at the start of play will be penalized with a set loss, including incomplete officiating teams. Teams are allowed to play with at least four players, three of whom must be registered players. Team members who arrive late will not be allowed to participate until the following set.

3) Schedule and format for playoffs will be indicated by the league director.

PLAYER SUBSTITUTIONS

1) Teams may use substitute players who are not originally registered to play. Substitute players must be identified by their team captains to the league director before the start of play to sign and date the team substitution form.

2) A team may only play with a maximum of three substitutions on any given league night (including play-off night).

3) Borrowing a registered player from other team is NOT be permitted. A borrowed player is considered an illegal substitution and that team’s play will be counted as a loss.

MAINTAINING YOUR TEAM ROSTER FOR PLAYOFFS

1) It is the responsibility of the team or team captain to inform the league director of player substitutions for documentation on the team substitution list before play begins or  teams will be penalized with a set loss.

2) Teams may use their substitutes in league playoffs if they have played at least two nights with that team during regular league play. This means signing and dating the team substitution form on two different nights.
